Friends of the Library |

Friends of the Library are community-based non-profit groups of citizens
who promote, encourage, enhance and support their local libraries.
In Washington State, members of more than 150 Friends of the
Library groups volunteer thousands of hours of their time
and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars annually through
community activities to supplement the funding of local libraries.
Each Spokane County Library District library has an affiliated Friends of the Library organization. Most are incorporated as non-profit, tax-exempt organizations. Local Friends' activities include, but are not limited to:
The Friends’ most significant fundraising activities are used book sales usually held at their library. Spokane County Library District policy encourages Friends of the Library engage in the following actions:
Membership in Friends of the Library groups is open to all community residents and library users. |
