Spokane County Library District Policies
The District is governed by the Board of Trustees, which has
legal responsibility for providing and maintaining public library
services for the citizens of the District. In doing so it carries
out specific requirements of state law, one of which is to
“Adopt such bylaws, rules, and regulations for their own guidance
and for the government of the library as they deem expedient” (RCW 27.12.210(1)).
As such, SCLD’s Board of Trustees has adopted several policies which govern both
customer use of library services and internal operations.
All policies are discussed and adopted during open public meetings and are reviewed by the Board on a regular schedule.
