Deer Park Library Closes Temporarily Due to HVAC Equipment Failure

Deer Park Library Reopening with Limited Services

Repair work on Deer Park Library’s HVAC system is still in progress as we are waiting for replacement parts to arrive. However, with cooler temperatures forecasted, we are planning to reopen the library with some services limited or unavailable until the repairs are complete. 

Beginning on Tuesday, September 2, the library will open to the public from 10am–6pm, Monday–Saturday (closed Sundays). These dates and time will remain until the repair is done or conditions warrant a change. 

Temperatures inside the library will be monitored and if they exceed SCLD safety procedures, the library will close early for the remainder of the day.  

While the building is open, some services will initially be limited or unavailable. 

• Curbside will be offered during open hours only. If the building must be closed due to high indoor temperatures, curbside will close as well. 
• Computer reservations will be available from 10am to noon only.  
• Snack program and LEGO Free Play will be available on the days the library remains open. 
• Storytimes, Produce Swap, and the Long-Stitch Bookbinding program are canceled. 
• Meeting and conference room use will be unavailable for advanced reservations, and only the conference room will be available on a walk-in basis.

Curbside Pickup

Curbside pickup service will be available at Deer Park Library Monday through Saturday during open hours, starting Tuesday, September 2. If the building must be closed due to high indoor temperatures, curbside pickup will be unavailable. 

During this time, Deer Park Library staff are able to bring your holds to you at the curb and process materials you return to the external library drop box.

Events & Programs

Events and programs scheduled in the library during the closure will be canceled and/or rescheduled for a later date.
