Hospice of Spokane Display
Spokane County Libraries are featuring a beautiful and touching photo display from Hospice of Spokane. The dozen photos tell the story of four different people who have used Hospice services. Hospice care is a holistic approach to end-of-life care, addressing the medical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of the terminally ill person and their loved ones.
Hospice of Spokane cares for anyone of any age with any terminal condition. The elderly patient with heart disease or emphysema. The middle-aged parent with cancer or kidney disease. The infant suffering from a congenital disorder. The survivors whose lives are shaken by loss and grief. Anyone can refer a person to Hospice of Spokane. Individuals are eligible for hospice care if their life expectancy is six months or less and they no longer desire life-prolonging treatments.
The display, or a portion of it, will be in each of our libraries for 3-4 weeks. Currently, the display split between the Argonne Library and the Medical Lake Library. Around July 14, the display will move to the Otis Orchards and Cheney Libraries.
