About Mobile Services
Mobile Services is the library department that reaches out to customers who are unable to easily visit one of our 10 libraries. Some of the ways we do this is by providing books through the mail, bringing materials into facilities, and visiting communities with LINC, our library on wheels and the latest addition to Spokane County Library District.
Books by Mail
The Books by Mail program helps Spokane County residents check out and receive library materials when they cannot easily leave their residence. You can request this service by contacting our Mobile Services team at the phone number or email listed below.

Mobile Services Van
The SCLD van makes regular visits to retirement facilities, assisted living homes, and apartment complexes. You may have seen our team rolling carts filled with library materials into lobbies for residents to browse.
Along with a variety of materials, our staff also bring library holds for residents. In lieu of an in-person lobby visit, Mobile Services can stop by to only drop off and pick up materials if that’s preferred.

The new Mobile Services van was made possible by voter approval of the library levy in 2019.
LINC
LINC’s name is the acronym created from “Libraries In Neighborhoods & Communities.”
LINC is the Mobile Services library vehicle. This library on wheels arrived in spring 2022 and provides access to library services and materials throughout Spokane County.
When LINC comes to your community or neighborhood, you will find the experience is very much like visiting our other libraries around Spokane County. There are many things to explore, discover, and do. To see where LINC will be next, visit its Location web page.
When you visit LINC, you can:
- Borrow library materials, such as books, DVDs, CDs, and more
- Return library materials
- Pick up your library holds
- Use LINC’s Wi-Fi
- Use a computer and access the internet
- Print files using Mobile Printing
- Enjoy library programs
Our Mobile Services team is developing a regular schedule of visits around Spokane County for LINC. And you can also invite LINC to your schools and community events. To request this service, contact our Mobile Services team at the phone number or email listed below.
