In anticipation of the new Spokane Valley Library opening this summer, The BookEnd located in the Spokane Valley Mall will be permanently closing on Friday, March 31, 2023.
If The BookEnd is your preferred pickup location, the only step you need to take is choosing a new pickup location when reserving materials online for pickup. Your library account will continue to be active, and all library cards include the same level of access at all Spokane County Library District locations and to online content, no matter which SCLD library you visit.
To update your preferred location for picking up holds, you can log into your account by clicking the “My Account” button at the top of the webpage. Then, select the “Personal Information” tab under the catalog search bar, and click on the “Preferences” section to select a new “Preferred Pickup Library.”
You can also call 509.893.8400 or drop in to one of our libraries and library staff will be happy to add your new preferred pickup library to your account.
You can find information about our other libraries on our Locations webpage.
The BookEnd opened in 2017 as a second service location in Spokane Valley while options for funding a new Spokane Valley Library were explored. Since then, Spokane County Library District has secured the funding and begun construction. The BookEnd is closing in preparation for the new library.
We hope to see you at the new Spokane Valley Library at 22 N Herald Rd (at Sprague Ave), opening this summer. More details coming soon!
